Long ago, before geckos climbed trees, the cycle of life and death suddenly stopped. Put off by this development, a wayward cleric, a frustrated psychopomp, and a blind bard seek the origins of death and to begin the cycle of reincarnation.

But in the end will they finally be able to die?
